Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained 35 people allegedly involved with drug dealing from Mohammadpur, Hazaribagh, Adabor and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital.
RAB 2 Senior Additional Superintendent of police (ASP) Md Robiul Islam confirmed the matter, saying that acting on a tip-off, several teams of RAB-2 conducted operations in the areas fromSaturdayevening.

According to RAB, after primary interrogation, the detainees confessed they had engaged in drug trades for earning some extra income before the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
Despite the ongoing nationwide anti-narcotics drive since early May, the detainees had been supplying Yaba, cannabis and heroin to buyers in Dhaka, said Robiul.
So far, about 140 people, mostly alleged drug dealers, have been killed and scores of others arrested since the drives began a month ago.
