'We have long been demanding a three-day government holiday during Durga Puja'
Fifteen organizations of the Hindu community on Friday demanded a three day government holiday during Durga Puja.
The “National Committee for three-day government holiday during Durga Puja” organized a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the morning, where the speakers made the demand.
Addressing the program, Hindu Mohajote President Provas Chandra Roy said: "We have long been demanding a three-day government holiday during Durga Puja, but the government remains silent."
The speakers also said they would stage movements across the country if their demand for a three-day government holiday is not met within the next 15 days.Bangladesh Hindu Mohajote Executive Secretary and Convenor Palash Kanti Dey, and Bangladesh Hindu Parishad Executive President Babul Das addressed the program, among others.
