Protesting students in Dhaka stopped Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed’s car for allegedly taking the wrong side of the road in Banglamotor, Dhaka on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 1:30 pm as Tofail’s car, accompanied by police vehicles, took the route.
The protesters surrounded the minister’s and the police vehicles, chanting “We want justice” and “Law is equal for all,” requesting them to back up and use the correct side of the road.

The minister got out of his car and was seen conversing with the students, before re-entering his car and leaving the scene a few minutes later.
However, the minister said he does not usually take the wrong side of the road, but had taken that route specifically to speak with the protesting students, UNB reported.
Students have been out on the streets since Sunday demanding punishment for the bus driver who ploughed into a group of students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, killing Class XII students Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib and injuring several others.
