A covered van crashed on Friday in the same place on the Airport Road where two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College lost their lives last Sunday.
The accident happened around 5:30am. Although the driver of the van was injured, no casualties were reported.
Cantonment Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahinur Rahman confirmed the incident.
“The driver was sent to Kurmitola General Hospital. His relatives later admitted him to a private hospital in Uttara,” he said.
Shahinur said the driver may have been sleepless and tired due to driving all through the night.
He added: “The van was seized and legal action will be taken after the driver recovers.”
On July 29, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed when a Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan bus ploughed through students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on the Airport Road.
