Muktijuddho Moncho, a movement for reinstatement of quotas in government jobs, has postponed its blockade of Dhaka’s Shahbagh intersection.
The announcement came on Monday evening after Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan arrived on the spot and held discussions with the protesters.
The protesters have also formed a new platform, called Muktijuddher Chetona Moncho. Maj Gen (retd.) Helal Morshed Khan has been made convener of the platform.
Osman Ali has been made member secretary.
Leaders of the movement said they will hold a press conference on October 14.
