An accused in a robbery case, with gunshot wounds, has reportedly escaped from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), under the nose of police.

The man has been identified as Idris Molla, 45, from Shariatpur’s Zajira.

He was found missing from 6:30pm Tuesday, according to DMCH police outpost’s In-Charge Inspector Md Bachchu Mia.

He said Idris was admitted at Ward No 102 in the hospital’s casualty department. Two policemen and an Ansar and VDP member were guarding him.

“We are looking for him,” said Bachchu.

Idris was shot during a robbery attempt and arrested in Munshiganj’s Tongibari on February 2.

Later, he was admitted to DMCH, where he also underwent a surgery.
