Teachers and employees of non-MPO educational institutions have postponed their demonstration for a month.
Principal Golam Mahmudunnabi Dollar, president of the Non-MPO Educational Institutions Teachers' and Employees' Federation, disclosed the information on Sunday in front of the National Press Club.

He said: “We wanted to meet with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has taken the responsibility of arranging a meeting between us and the prime minister. The date of our meeting with the PM will be set on Monday."
“In light of the current circumstances, we have decided to postpone our protests for a month. If our demands are not met, we will resume our demonstrations.”
Thousands of protesters have been holding demonstrations, under the banner of Non-MPO Educational Institutions Teachers' and Employees' Federation, demanding enlistment of their institutions under the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) scheme.
They demanded the intervention of the prime minister in resolving the issue.
