She visited the Indian capital to join a two-day workshop by IMF South Asia
Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury returned to Dhaka from New Delhi, India on Thursday night, after attending the a workshop of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
State Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali, Parliament Secretary Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan, and other high officials welcomed her at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The IMF’s South Asia Regional Training and Technical Assistance Centre (IMF-SARTTAC) organized the two-day workshop on microeconomic policy and capacity building for lawmakers in South Asia, said press release issued on Friday.
Addressing the inaugural session of the event, the speaker emphasized the importance of maintaining economic stability across the globe.
Besides the workshop, Shirin Sharmin also attended a program marking the 49th Independence and National Day, organized by Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi, as the chief guest.
