A team from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and representatives of The Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) on Monday visited the FR Tower in Banani among other probe committees to collected samples and survey the site of the devastating fire.
The eight member IEB team led by Kazi Khairul Bashar, assistant secretary general (Academic and International affairs) of IEB surveyed the site for three hours.
“We have gathered details about the infrastructure of the building from different floors,” said Secretary Khairul Bashar adding they will release the report next week.
"The fire could have initiated from the eighth floor, or even from the ninth, tenth floor, we cannot say for sure for now," he added.
Complaints of mismanagement in the FR Tower surfaced during the public hearing by the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry on Sunday.
The deadly fire on Thursday left 26 dead as of now with more than 50 persons injured.
