In the GD, she mentioned that a group of militants had threatened her
Noted human rights activist Sultana Kamal has filed a general dairy (GD) with the Dhanmondi police station seeking security.
The eminent citizen filed the GD on Saturday evening, Dhanmondi police station’s OC Abdul Latif told Dhaka Tribune.
“We are looking into the matter,” he added.
In the GD, she mentioned that a group of militants had threatened her, said Sub-Inspector Harunur Rashid, who was assigned to investigate the GD.
In her complaint, she stated that a militant group published a magazine in March this year, where it said preparations to kill three prominent individuals--Sultana Kamal, Journalist Shahriar Kabir and Prof Muntasir Mamun.
Expressing grave concern over the death threat, she sought steps for her security and for those persons named by the militant group.
In the GD, Sultana Kamal said that United Nations and different international rights groups have already asked her to know that what kind of steps have been taken by the Bangladesh government over her security as a human rights activist.
Meanwhile, when contacted, the activist told Dhaka Tribune that she was not interested in talking over the matter.
