Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has said that if people fail to buy advance train tickets due to glitches in their app, then the remaining ones will be sold from counters after May 27.
The minister made the statement on Wednesday while talking to reporters after visiting Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka in the morning.
"It is the failure of CNS Ltd (the firm) that developed the app, as well as ours (Railways Ministry)," he said.
"We have already made an alternative arrangement if people fail to buy tickets through the app. Unsold tickets will be available at ticket counters from May 27," Sujan said.
He said action will be taken against CNS Ltd if its negligence is proven, reports UNB.
The minister said some 14,754 tickets were sold online, while 5,242 will be sold through the app.
Sujan added that more than 5,000 tickets have already been bought using the app.
Hundreds of people thronged the counters at railway stations, including Kamalapur, in the capital on Wednesday to buy train tickets in advance to go home for Eid-ul-Fitr.
