Observing that militants are still active across the world, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) Benazir Ahmed has urged all to remain alert against them aiming to eliminate militancy from the world.
“Militancy is a global problem. Militants are still active across the world. Many youths are getting derailed owing to the internet and social media,” he said on Monday, reports BSS.
He made the statement at a press briefing in Dhaka’s Gulshan area after placing a wreath in reminiscence of the people killed in the Holey Artisan Bakery attack in 2016.
The RAB chief said, after the Holey Artisan attack, the law enforcement agencies with their united efforts were able to detect the militants involved in the attack.
He furthered that said a total of 129 militant attacks were carried out across the Europe in 2018, which revealed that militants were not wiped out globally.
