Study: 80% people in Bangladesh approve of PM

People satisfied with mega projects, roads and communication and education.

A total 80% of the people of Bangladesh approve of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a study conducted by research, communication, strategic development organization Call Ready.

The study, unveiled at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Thursday, also found that the popularity of the PM has increased by 10% over the last six months. 

Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader was found to be the most popular minister, with the support of 41% respondents. Minister of Education Dipu Moni came in second with the support of 29% of those surveyed.

In addition, 22% of the respondents said they were satisfied with the implementation of mega projects, 20%  said they were satisfied with the road and communication situation, and 10%  said they were satisfied with the condition of education.

However, some of the respondents expressed dissatisfaction with law and order situation, particularly regarding the prevalence or rape and other crimes.

A total 1,255 people from across the country were surveyed for the study, conducted by Prof Dr Abul Hasnat Milton, Kazi Ahmad Pervez, Azad Abul Kalam and Md Mosharraf Hossain over the past six months.
