Nearly 30,000 square-feet of space was cleared during the drive
Dhaka North City Corporation has conducted a drive from Mirpur section 14 to Bhashantek intersection and removed illegal establishments in Dhaka.
The drive, led by two Executive Magistrates of DNCC SM Shafiul Azam and Md Sajid Anwar, began at 12pm on Sunday.

More than 300 semi-pucca establishments, temporary shops, sheds, staircases, wood installations, were demolished during the drive.
DNCC authorities said they cleared nearly 30,000 square-feet of space during the drive.

The team also fined Tk50,000 to a man on for keeping construction materials on the road and footpath.
A bamboo seller was also sentenced to 15 days in jail as he could not pay the fine of Tk1 lakh imposed on him for occupying road by keeping construction materials.
The drive against illegal encroachers will continue, the magistrates said.
