BracU organizes Bangla poetry recitation competition

The competition focused on topics like Bangla pronunciation, voice projection and speech delivery, rhythm, and expression of emotions

The Brac University Communication and Language Club (BUCLC) organized a Bangla poetry recitation competition in order to encourage students to better their use of Bangla.

The event took place at the university's main campus in Dhaka's Mohakhali on Thursday.

Forty-three students participated in the competition which largely focused on topics such as, Bengali language pronunciation, voice projection and speech delivery, rhythm, and expression of emotions.

Assistant Professor of Bangla Language and Literature at Brac University, Dr Nimai Mondal, and Lecturer Ms Chaiti Chakraborty, were the honorable judges for the competition.

Earlier, on October 17, BUCLC also arranged a workshop focusing on the proper pronunciation of Bangla.

The aim of the competition and workshop was to create and grow enthusiasm for the appropriate use of Bangla by Brac University students.
