2 fall to death in Dhaka

Two people have died in separate incidents in Mohammadpur and Lalbagh area of Dhaka.

In Mohammadpur, an eight-year-old girl named Jhumur died after falling from the roof of her house in Chand Uddan area, while playing with her friends.

The critically injured Jhumur was taken to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 11:30am, where the duty doctors declared her dead.

Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police outpost said: "The body has been kept at the hospital's morgue."

In Lalbagh, a house painter named Abul Kalam, 65, died when he fell from the second storey of the Lalbagh unit Fire Service station while he was painting a wall.

He was taken to DMCH around 10:30am in a critical condition and the hospital's duty doctors declared him dead, his fellow worker Babul confirmed to Dhaka Tribune.
