Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said stern action will be taken against them
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said those who spread rumours on Facebook are now under government surveillance, and stern action will be taken against them.
“Most of those who recently spread rumours on Facebook have been arrested and brought to justice. The rumour-mongers must face action,” said Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, reports UNB.
The minister spoke to reporters on Sunday at a dialogue with Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters’ Forum (BSRF) at the mass media centre of the Secretariat.
All must be more careful and responsible while using Facebook, so that no rumour on Facebook can create confusion, he said.
When asked about submitting the charge sheet in the Abrar murder case, Asaduzzaman said that it is taking some to submit the charge sheet since it will be a flawless one.
However, police received all the information and the charge sheet will be submitted soon, he added.
About the government’s "zero-tolerance policy" against drugs, the minister said the newly-recruited government officials have to undergo dope test before entry.
Drug addicts will not get government jobs, he said, adding that civil surgeons have been informed about the Prime Minister’s directive in this regard.
“We are strictly trying to control drugs, and steps have been taken so that drugs cannot enter the country through the borders,” he added.
Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters’ Forum (BSRF) President Tapan Biswas and General Secretary Shamim Ahmed were present at the occasion.
