Ilias Kanchan has embezzled crores for his road safety awareness movement Nirapad Sharak Chai, claims Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation (BRTWF) Executive President Shajahan Khan.
He made the claim at the inaugural ceremony of Divers Training Center (DTC), organized by Dhaka District Bus-Minibus Transport Workers Union in Naryanganj on Sunday.
He alleged: "Ilias Kanchan received crores in foreigners' donations for his Nirapad Sharak Chai movement. He invested this huge amount of illegal money in several businesses and schools.
We plan to reveal all his sources of income publicly, he added.
"The amount of money he looted under the pretext of training transport workers will also be made public," he claimed.
He also praised the government's initiatives taken to ensure road safety, but demanded some reconsideration before strictly implementing Road Transport Act 2018.
