Four of the injured, including Nurul Haque Nur, will soon be discharged
Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin made the statement at a press conference held in DMCH on Thursday.
He said none of the eight injured are in critical condition anymore.
Sohel, one of the injured had to undergo a surgery as he sustained head injuries. His condition has improved now and will soon be transferred to the hospital's High Dependency Unit (HDU) from Intensive Care Unit (ICU), he added
Another injured, Farabi, is being kept in the HDU and our medical experts are taking care of him. Both Sohel and Farabi will be shifted to cabins on Saturday, said the hospital's director.
Aminul also sustained some head injuries, however, he is being treated under the Kidney department of the hospital as he had kidney infections too, he added.
AKM Nasir said Arif has high blood pressure and some problems in his ears. They are going to keep him under observation.
Mehedi Hasan also has high blood pressure, Faruk has some ear problems, Nurul Haque Nur and Nazmul have pain in their elbow and arm. They will all be tested, treated and discharged soon, but they might have to come for follow-ups, he added.
The DMCH director said the medical board has been increased to a 13-member team, all engaged in giving them proper treatment.
On December 22, Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur and 27 others were injured in an attack allegedly carried out by activists of Chhatra League and Muktijuddha Mancha in the Dhaka University (DU) campus.
On December 24, a case was filed against 30-35 leaders and activists of Muktijuddho Mancha, including its Central General Secretary Al Mamun and its DU unit General Secretary Yasir Arafat Turjo, for their alleged involvement in the attack.
