A total of 4 crude bombs exploded on the DU campus on Sunday
Another crude bomb has exploded near Madhur Canteen on the Dhaka University campus.
The incident took place on Sunday, evening.
The university Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani confirmed the matter.
He said: “We have heard about the explosion. The bomb exploded after it went under the tire of a faculty member's car near the canteen premises.
Earlier in the day, at least three crude bombs exploded in front of Madhur Canteen. The incident took place around 9:45am, according to the DU proctor
However, no one was injured during the explosion.
Prof Rabbani said: "This was done by someone who wants to create unrest in the university's campus. Legal action should be taken against those who are responsible for the blast, regardless of which organization they belong to."
Chhatra League DU unit's General Secretary Saddam Hossain said: "I think this offense was committed by some Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) members who were deprived of their positions when the new committee was formed. This incident needs to be investigated."
Rakibul Islam Rakib, convener of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD)'s DU unit, said: "We do not want to blame anybody until the university's administration discovers who the culprits are. Finding out the culprits should not be a hard task as there are many CCTV cameras around the place."
Senior officials from Dhaka Metropolitan Police visited the spot earlier.
