Three more crude bombs have gone off at the Dhaka University (DU) campus on Saturday.

DU proctorial team members Sudarshan Halder and Salauddin confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

An unidentified man, wearing a red jacket, hurled two crude bombs in between the Ducsu building and the Arts building on the campus around 11:07 am.

Eyewitnesses claimed that some people tried to catch the miscreant but he managed to flee the scene.

Another crude bomb exploded near Aparajeyo Bangla premises while a protest program by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student body of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was going on around 11.35am on Saturday.

When asked about the involvement of Chhatra Dal in the bomb blasts, the Convener of Chhatra Dal DU unit Rakibul Hasan Rakib denied the accusation and said: “It was done by some miscreants to foil the protest program on the campus.”

DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani was unavailable for any comments, despite several attempts to contact him over the phone.

On December 29 and December 30, a total of 6 crude bombs exploded at the DU campus while an unexploded one was found on December 26.
