12-year-old held for allegedly raping first grader

Police have arrested a 12-year-old boy accused of raping a first grader in Old Dhaka.

The accused was arrested from Kayettuli area on Saturday, reports UNB.

Confirming the matter, Bangshal police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Hasan Matabbar said: "According to the case filed by the survivor's mother, a minor boy allegedly raped her daughter on January 15.

The case was however filed on the following day with Bangshal police station."

While promising to investigate the case seriously, the law enforcement agency arrested the accused.

"We sent the minor boy to Tongi Juvenile Correctional Centre," SI Hasan added.
