He will ask the Anti Corruption Commission to investigate the allegation
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government will take legal action against Lakshmipur lawmaker Quazi Shaheed Islam based on the human trafficking allegation lodged against him.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, made the statement at a briefing in Bangladesh Secretariat on Sunday.
He said: "I will ask the Anti Corruption Commission to investigate the allegation as per prime minister's stand against corruption."
His comments came after media reported on allegation of trafficking against Quazi Shaheed Islam, a lawmaker of Lakshmipur 2 constituency.
According to the report, Shaheed is one of the three Bangladeshis who are involved with human trafficking in Kuwait.
