1 held with gold worth Tk1.5cr at Dhaka airport

Dhaka Custom House (DCH) has arrested a man for carrying 2.95 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The man, identified as Sheikh Sadi, was arrested on Wednesday night, reports UNB.

Custom House Assistant Commissioner Solaiman Saif said acting on a tip off, a DCH team challenged Sheikh Sadi, a passenger of Flight MH196 which landed in Dhaka from Malaysia at 11:30pm.

After a body search, custom officials recovered 2.95 kilograms of gold worth Tk1.5 crore.

The arrestee was handed over to the police.
