He was unmarried and living alone
Police have recovered the decomposed body of a deputy secretary from Bailey Road, Dhaka.
The body was recovered on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Kader Chowdhury, 60, a deputy secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Ramna police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Younus Mollah confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said the body was recovered from a flat of the officers’ quarter and was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy.
“We suspect that he died four to five days ago," the SI said.
When asked about the cause of the deputy secretary’s death, the SI said they suspected Abdul was suffering from along lime illness, as some medicines were found from his flat.
“He was unmarried and lived there alone,” the SI said adding that “so far we know that his village is in Bhola's Charfashion."
“We are investigating the matter and trying reach his family,"he said.
