Covid-19 fear: 300 Japanese citizens to leave by chartered flight on Thursday

Governments across the world have been arranging chartered flights to take back their nationals

More than 300 Japanese nationals are set to leave Dhaka for Tokyo by a special chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh airlines in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biman’s Boeing 777 aircraft carrying the Japanese citizens will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at 10am on Thursday for Narita Airport of Japan, Biman’s Managing Director and CEO Md Mokabbir Hossain told newsmen over social media on Wednesday, reports BSS.

The Japanese Embassy in Dhaka chartered the Biman flight through the Bangladesh government, the airline sources said.

On Monday, 269 US citizens left Dhaka by a special chartered flight of Qatar airways, while earlier 225 Malaysians and 139 Bhutanese citizens also left through chartered flights on their personal choice amid the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

Governments across the world have been arranging chartered flights to take back their nationals from different countries as regular air connectivity is almost suspended around the globe due to the outbreak of the killer virus.
