The forum aims to plan policy pathways and community actions for tackling challenges posed by the pandemic
Leading think tank South Asian Network on Economic Modeling (Sanem) has launched a forum on coronavirus, to help in the fight against the outbreak “Sanem Netizen Forum on COVID-19 Pandemic”.
The forum, named Sanem Netizen Forum on COVID-19 Pandemic, aims to plan policy pathways and community actions for tackling challenges posed by the pandemic, according to the press statement of Sanem.
The forum will connect the Sanem team led by Dr. Selim Raihan, executive director of Sanem, with academicians, researchers, development practitioners, and students by conducting online discussions once a week through SKYPE, said the statement.
With an economic downturn becoming imminent and almost half the world in lockdown, it has been realized that this pandemic and its aftermath can be countered only if there is a concerted effort at local, national and international levels, the statement added.
The statement said that Sanem is continuously taking part in social actions necessary to fight the coronavirus pandemic. The forum is part of that endeavor.
The first meeting is scheduled to be held on Friday in Bangladesh.
