All-out cooperation from the city dwellers and vegetable vendors sought

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday advised for shifting shops from kitchen markets as many as possible and installing those alongside roads, maintaining a 20-foot distance from each other.

It gave the advice to implement government’s instructions to maintain social distancing to prevent the novel coronavirus from spreading further, as city dwellers have to buy items from crowded kitchen markets for lack of adequate space inside, reports UNB.

“This is why it’s advised that shops be shifted from kitchen markets as many as possible and be set up 20/20 feet away alongside roads,” said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.

He also sought all-out cooperation from the city dwellers and vegetable vendors in this regard.

Bangladesh saw the highest deaths from coronavirus on Friday, as 15 more people died from the virus infection between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, taking the death toll in the country to 75.

Besides, 266 more people tested positive during the same period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 1,838.
