Some people made indecent and suggestive comments on a photo of Shakib al Hasan’s four-year old daughter
Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police’s (DMP) Cyber Security and Crime Division has said they will take action against the people who made indecent comments on a photo of cricketer Shakib al Hasan’s daughter.
Police have already identified some Facebook accounts which have made the offensive remarks on the post.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Cyber Crime Unit’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) AFM Al Kibria confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said that they are looking into the matter and trying to trace the users of the accounts who posted the indecent and suggestive comments.
“We have identified some Facebook accounts. We are trying to identify the people using those accounts,” he added.
DC Kibria said they have not yet received any formal complaints, but noticed the offensive remarks and are doing their own monitoring and investigations.
DMP’s Cyber Crime Investigation Division posted on their verified Facebook page on Friday in this regard.
It said: “Some perverted people have made vulgar comments on social media about Bangladesh’s pride Shakib Al Hasan’s child, which is a punishable offence. This incident has come to our attention and we are trying to identify the culprits and bring them to justice.”
In the Facebook post, they also requested everyone to maintain manners and etiquette on social media.
Recently, ace all-rounder Shakib al Hasan posted a photo of his four-year old daughter Alaina on his Facebook page where it was seen that she was standing in a sunflower field.
Some people made indecent and suggestive comments in the comment section of that post which created a controversy.
Shakib and his wife Umme Ahmed Shishir removed the photo from their Facebook page following the objectionable comments.
Many Facebook users have expressed their outrage and have drawn the attention of police to take action against the culprits.
