Police have recovered a body of one of their sources allegedly killed by some unidentified muggers in Gazipur.
The body of the deceased, Mamun, 40, was recovered from a street adjacent to Siam CNG Filling station of Naljani area of the district on Wednesday around 9am.
Confirming the incident, Bason police station Sub-Inspector Mostafa Kamal said: “Informed by the locals we recovered the mutilated dead-body of the police source from the area. We later sent it to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
“His body bears several brutal wound marks. During primary investigation, we found that he was attacked and killed by some muggers. An investigation is ongoing,” the SI added.
