Another software technology park in Dhaka on the cards

Centres for Fourth Industrial Revolution to be established at universities to conduct research on topics like artificial intelligence, says Palak

In a bid to create skilled IT professionals, the Bangladesh government plans to build another software technology park in the capital, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said on Friday. 

The state minister was speaking at the inauguration program of a three-day-long mentor development camp organized by The Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority at the IEB building, according to media reports. 

Palak said the new enterprise, “Prime”, will be demonstrated before Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina shortly.

Under the project, the Software Technology Park at Janata Tower in the capital will have another one next to it, the state minister added.

Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution will be established at universities for conducting research on big data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics and blockchain technologies, he said. 

Thirty-nine projects have been undertaken by Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority to construct as many hi-tech parks in the country. It has already completed five of them.
