The accidents took place in Jatrabari and Gulshan
Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital city on Friday night.
The two deceased were later identified as Al Amin, 22, and Ziaur Rahman, 43.
Amin, a resident of Niketan, used to work for food and grocery delivery service foodpanda. But he had not been working after the recent Covid-19 lockdown started.
Whereas, Ziaur was an employee of Amin Jewelers at Baitul Mukarram Market and lived in the Shanir Akhra area.
Quoting family members, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost’s In-Charge Inspector Bachchu Mia said: “Motorcyclist Amin was brought to the hospital around 12:15am Saturday by police. He was declared dead by on-duty doctors.
“Amin got injured after he, along with his motorcycle, fell on the road in Notun Bazar area after being hit by a car, which is yet to be identified.”
“Meanwhile, Ziaur was critically injured when a car hit the rickshaw he was riding in Jatrabari’s Kajla area around 8pm Friday. He was also declared dead upon arrival at DMCH around midnight,” said the inspector.
