One of the injured is in critical condition, say doctors

Three youths were stabbed during a clash between two rival groups in the capital’s Dhanmondi area on Thursday.

The injured are Nadim, 21, Sourav, 20, and Shams, 20.

Of them, Sourav and Shams were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while Nadim was admitted to a local hospital, according to Dhanmondi police station Sub-Inspector Bipul Kumar Paul.

Doctors said that the condition of Sourav was critical.

Officer-in-Charge Ekram Ali said that the injured youths were friends with the attackers through Facebook. They had a dispute earlier, but later settled their differences with each other.

“Both the groups met each other near Dhanmondi Lake today [Thursday]. At one point, they engaged in a clash as an altercation broke out,” he added.
