A student of Dhaka City College has committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
The deceased was identified as Farzana Binte Ayub, 21. She committed suicide at around 4:45pm on Wednesday, her family members said.
The deceased's father Ayub Ali Mridha said his daughter wanted to study at a private university. However, as private universities are very costly, he enrolled her to Dhaka City College.
She had a fight with her parents regarding this issue.

She then went to her bathroom and hanged herself from the showerhead with a scarf, her father said.
Her family later broke into the bathroom and found her hanging. They rushed her to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 6:15pm, where the doctor on duty pronounced her dead.
Confirming the matter, DMCH police outpost In-Charge Md Bachchu Miah said the body was kept in the Dhaka Medical College morgue and the concerned police station had been informed.
