Police get two more days to interrogate Pori Moni in drugs case

A Dhaka court on Tuesday granted police two more days to interrogate Dhallywood actor Pori Moni and three others in a drug case.

Police produced the actor, producer Nazrul Islam Raz and two others in court following the completion of a four-day remand in the case filed with Banani police station.

Investigators filed a petition for a five-day remand, Special Superintendent Azad Rahman of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) told the media.

Producer Raz and his manager Shobuj Ali have been remanded for four days in a case filed under the Pornography Act after the police sought 10 days to quiz them.

Pori Moni, her aide Ashraful Islam Dipu, producer Raz and his manager Shobuj were brought to the court from the Malibagh CID offices around 11:45am, say media reports.

Model Mariam Akter Mou has also been brought to court after the end of a four-day remand to interrogate her in a separate narcotics case. Police are also requesting an additional five days to question her, media reports quoted senior CID official Rahman.
