The man was reportedly trying to flee to India through the Benapole border
Police in Benapole have arrested the husband of a woman who was murdered along with their one-and-a-half-month-old son in Dhaka last week.
Abdul Ohid was taken into custody from a residential hotel in Benapole on Saturday, said Benapole port police station OC Mamun Khan.
Sources said Ohid was trying to flee to India from Benapole.
OC Mamun said, acting on a tip-off, they raided the hotel and arrested Ohid from Benapole International Hotel. “We will produce him before a Jessore court later on Sunday.”

Last Monday, Jatrabari police had recovered the bodies of Roma Akhter, 27, and her one-and-a-half-year-old son Md Rishad from their Mirhazirbagh home in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area.
Jatrabari police suspect that Ohid hit the two with a hammer and strangled them with a pillow afterwards. Both items were recovered from the crime scene.
They think Ohid murdered them following a family dispute and then went into hiding.
