No explosives found at blast spot, say police
An explosion at a building in East Tejturi Bazar area of Dhaka's Tejgaon on Friday night left two people severely injured.
The two injured men are Yasin, 35, and Jeetu, 28.
They are currently undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Quoting the doctor on duty, Inspector Bacchu Miah of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost said both Yasin and Jeetu are in critical condition.
Yasin suffered 50% burns, while Jeetu suffered 65% burns, he added.
The explosion occurred at around 9:30pm on the second floor of a six-storey building in the area, media reports quoted Fire Service official Dewan Azad as saying.
No explosives were found at the blast spot, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Deputy Commissioner Abdul Mannan told an online newspaper.
The specialized branch of the police is still investigating the reason behind the explosion.
