Students have been asked to vacate residential halls by 3pm on Friday, Public Relations Office Deputy Director Golam Mortuza told the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the decision to temporarily shut the university until November 18 came from an academic council meeting on Friday morning.
Classes will resume from November 19, Mortuza added.
Two factions of the ruling Awami League's student front fought pitched battles on Tuesday and Wednesday nights over a missing laptop on the campus. At least one person was injured.
