All necessary preparations have been made, including setting up convocation gates at the campus entry points.
Students who attended a graduation rehearsal on Friday took photographs wearing their graduation gowns on the grounds of Teacher-Student Centre (TSC), Curzon Hall, Arts Faculty building, Aparajeyo Bangla, Raju Memorial Sculpture, Senate Bhaban, and elsewhere on campus.
The convocation will be held at the central playground with 17,875 students taking part.
DU Chancellor President Abdul Hamid will preside while Bangladesh-born academician and vice-chancellor of Western University of Canada Amit Chakma will be the convocation speaker.
DU will confer on Amit an honourary Doctor of Science (ScD) degree for his outstanding contribution to education and research.
A total of 80 students will be given gold medals for outstanding academic results. In addition, 61 researchers will be given Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees and 43 will receive Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degrees.
