A Chinese university is offering scholarships up to 100% for Bangladeshi students.
An opportunity for free spot admissions to Southwest Petroleum University of China was given to Bangladeshi students on Saturday, hosted by MalishaEdu at Hotel Abakash in Mohakhali.
A team of delegates from the university came to Bangladesh for the free admissions as well as for a discussion meeting.
Ms Dailei, dean of Southwest Petroleum University, highlighted various aspects of Chinese education for the Bangladeshi students, including scholarship opportunities for meritorious Bangladeshi students.
Ms Dailei said: “We will do everything for the Bangladeshi students' benefit. Currently we are giving more than 60% scholarships for undergraduate students and 100% for postgraduates and PHD. The postgraduate students are also provided with free accommodation and meal allowances for every month.”
She also assured that the students would be offered opportunities and assistance to work in various important positions upon completion of their study.
Ms Yanguan, admissions officer of the university, said: “The Chinese education system is easy to access for Bangladeshi students. Good residential arrangements are also available at low cost.”
A number of Bangladeshi students at the event received spot admission to courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering as well as in BBA/International Trade and Economics, she added, saying that students could transfer their credits to universities in other countries if they so wished.
Parliamentary Standing Committee member of the Ministry of Education Nazrul Islam Babu was present at the program.
Admissions will stay open till August 15, 2017.
