
Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique joined the Dhaka University department of Mass Communication and Journalism as a professor on Sunday.
Prof Arefin signed his joining paper in the department chairperson's office at 11:40am, where he was welcomed by his department colleagues.
He will be taking part in the department’s regular activities, a department press release has said.
The university offices resumed on Sunday after the Eid-ul-Azha holidays, and regular classes will commence from Monday.

Prof Arefin became the 27th vice-chancellor of Dhaka University in 2009 and also is the first person to complete a full tenure as an unelected VC in the 96-year history of the university.
DU Chancellor President M Abdul Hamid had appointed Prof Arefin for four years from a panel of three candidates elected by the DU Senate on August 24, 2013.
On September 4, the chancellor appointed Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, a professor of Islamic History and Culture at the university, as interim VC of Dhaka University, replacing Prof Arefin at the end of his tenure.
