The government has announced a bounty of Tk 5lakh each for handing over to the authorities the criminals involved in question paper leakage on social media sites.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid came up with the announcement on Sunday, while briefing reporters after an emergency meeting with the National Monitoring Committee on Law and Order on the ongoing Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations.
The meeting was held at the minister’s office in Dhaka amid widespread allegations over the leakage of question papers of all examinations on social media sites, including Facebook.
Meanwhile, an 11-member committee, headed by Md Alamgir, secretary of Vocational and Madrasa Division of the Education Ministry, was formed for scrutinizing the allegations of question paper leaks and taking decisions over cancellation of examinations as per its recommendations.
Nahid had declared that examinations would be cancelled if an allegation of question paper leak is found true.
