Raushan: Government can stop question paper leaks

Update : 01 Mar 2018, 12:25 AM
Opposition leader Raushan Ershad on Wednesday said the malpractice of frequent question paper leaks during public examinations can be stopped right away if the government really wants to do so. "If the government wants, it can be done. There is nothing the government cannot do. Why is the government not taking steps to stop the question leaks? What will be the education minister's answer if he is asked this question?" Raushan asked. Raushan Ershad was delivering her speech in Parliament on the closing day of the current session. The opposition leader said she is unable to understand why question scripts get leaked so repeatedly: "When will this come to an end?"

Raushan, also senior co-vice chairperson of Jatiya Party, alleged that those who are involved in preparing question papers are responsible for leaking the scripts. "Our meritorious students are getting into trouble because of question leaks... The education system is lagging behind," a worried Raushan told the House. She, however, observed that the present government has been more successful compared to those in the past. “The development work being carried out under the current government was never seen during the tenure of previous governments.”
