
Four thousand and sixty one non-government teachers have been given Monthly Pay Order (MPO).
The announcement was made at a meeting held at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) on Saturday.
The meeting was presided over by DSHE Director General Professor Mahbubur Rahman. DSHE Education Officer Chandra Sheikh Haldar said 4,061 teachers have been given MPO.
Sources present at the meeting said on December 31, 2017, the Ministry of Education decided to bring 7,146 teachers under the MPO system.
The non-government teachers got a chance to apply for MPO.
Regional offices assessed the applications of the teachers and selected 4,061 teachersfro MPO.
On March 20, the regional offices forwarded the list of teachers eligible for MPO.
The meeting for awarding MPO is held at DSHE every two months. Usually at the meeting, three representatives of the ministry and two representatives of the directorate are present.
