Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has said that all necessary preparations have been taken to hold the Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations in a peaceful manner.

The minister said this while talking to reporters after visiting examination centres at Motijheel Government Boys' High School and Motijheel Government Girls' High School in Dhaka on Thursday, reports UNB.

All concerned, including the law enforcement agencies, were working relentlessly to ensure smooth holding of the examinations in a copying-free environment, he said.

“Law enforcement agencies are also alert to prevent question paper leaks.”

He also warned that strict actions would be taken against anyone found involved in leaking question papers.

The education minister also informed that the rate of student dropouts had decreased in secondary level education, and the number of JSC and JDC examinees increased.

Last year, the number of student was 2,468,000 in JSC and JDC exams, while this year the number is 2,670,000.

Nahid also said the number of girl JSC and JDC examinees was 222,869 more than the boy examinees this year.
