Students will be informed of the new schedule through an announcement before the exam

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will only resume when conditions return to normal, Dhaka Education Board Chairman and Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Subcommittee Chief Professor M Ziaul Haque said on Friday.

Students will be informed of the new schedule through an announcement before the exam, he added.

The HSC examinations, originally scheduled to be held from April 1 to May 13, were postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were also suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

On March 16, the government took the decision to close all educational institutions in order to reduce the risk of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes the Covid-19 infection.
