The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has decided that all primary schools and kindergartens across Bangladesh will remain shut till June 15 to stop the spread of Covid-19.

“All public and private primary schools and kindergartens across Bangladesh will remain closed till June 15 in order to protect the students from coronavirus infection,” read the statement.
“During this time, students will stay in their respective homes to protect themselves and others from the deadly virus,” added the statement.
The statement further said that parents will have to confirm the whereabouts of the students and local administration officials will closely monitor it.
“The headmasters of the concerned schools and kindergartens will ensure that their students are at home and studying the designated textbooks through the concerned parents,” said the statement.
The health guidelines and directions issued by the Prime Minister's Office, Cabinet Division, Ministry of Public Administration and DGHS are a must follow for all, added the statement.
Earlier on May 28, the government has announced the withdrawal of the ongoing nationwide public holiday, after more than two months, to allow all offices and businesses to resume operation from May 31 on a limited scale.
The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Thursday. The directives will remain in force until June 15.
However, all educational institutes were instructed to remain shut to fight the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
