Dipu Moni shares the latest plan as authorities begin the registration process for this year’s HSC and Alim exams
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificates (HSC) examinations and their equivalent tests will be held in November and December, respectively, says the education minister.
“We hope to hold the SSC exams in mid-November and the HSC at the beginning of December,” Dipu Moni told reporters in Dhaka on Thursday, reports Bangla Tribune.
She said that the exams will be held on the revised syllabus students have already been provided with.
“If the students follow the books and complete the assignments, they should be prepared,” she said, adding that the ministry is taking all routine preparations to hold the exams safely amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dipu Moni said that they are hopeful as infections were low around the same time last year and now the Covid-19 vaccination drive is also underway around the country.

“If the situation doesn’t appear preferable to hold the exams, we will review our planned measures,” she said.
The minister’s remarks came after the registration process for this year’s HSC and Alim exams started earlier on Thursday.
According to a circular from the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, the registration process will run until August 25.
It said students after receiving the confirmation SMS from the board will be able to pay the fee online using "Sonali E-Service" by August 30.
The registration fee has been set at Tk1,160 for the science group and Tk1,060 for the humanities and business groups.
The entire registration process will take place online. Students and parents will not be allowed to visit the institutions under any circumstances.
There will be no test exam this time because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to that, students cannot be charged any fee for this and institutions will face disciplinary action for violating this directive, read the circular.
