NU requests affiliated institutions to inform it after removing the term within 15 days
The National University (NU) has asked all affiliated colleges and other affiliated educational institutions under its umbrella to drop the term "university college" from their names within the next 15 days.
NU issued a notice in this regard on Thursday.

The concerned authorities of affiliated institutions use the term "university college" in their publications, signboards, banners, college pads, teachers' visiting cards which violates the national universities guidelines, the notice read.
The notice also requested affiliated institutions to inform the National University after removing the term.
There are 2,154 public and private affiliated colleges operating under the National University and of these, 279 are government colleges.
A recent study recently reported that the total number of students in the colleges under the National University is about 2 million.
