Students will have to take written tests on a limited syllabus this year
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams for the tenth graders will be held from November 14 while the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) exams for twelfth graders have been scheduled for December 2.
The Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board announced the exam schedule on Monday after they were approved, confirmed SM Amirul Islam, the exam controller for Dhaka Education Board, to Dhaka Tribune.
The examinations will be held with short syllabuses on three elective subjects on group basis, and 24 assignments will be given for SSC students while 30 assignments for HSC students before the examinations, Education Minister Dipu Moni said in July.
No assignment will be given on Bangla, English and other compulsory subjects and the 4th subjects, she said then.
According to the exam schedules, the SSC and its equivalent examinations will end on November 23 while the HSC exams on December 30.

Educational institutions reopened on September 12 after being closed since March of 2020 due to the pandemic.
The government usually holds the SSC exams in February and the HSC tests in April.

Last year the SSC tests were completed before the pandemic, but the HSC exams were postponed.

As schools stayed remained shut, students were promoted automatically without exams after online classes.
The HSC results were published by averaging the grades in JSC and SSC.
